Fundora Triumphs Over Tszyu in a Bloody Battle

On March 30th, at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, USA, WBO world champion in the super welterweight division (up to 69.9 kg) Tim Tszyu (24-1, 17 KOs) defended his title against American Sebastian Fundora (21-1-1, 13 KOs). The vacant WBC title was also up for grabs in this clash.

The battle concluded with Fundora winning by split decision. The judges scored the fight 116-112 (Tszyu) and 116-112, 115-113 (Fundora).

Tszyu claimed the full WBO title on October 15, 2023, in a match against Bryan Mendoza (22-3, 16 KOs), securing a unanimous decision victory. Fundora previously faced Mendoza in April of the same year in a bout for the interim WBC championship but suffered a knockout defeat.
