Insider: Fundora Agrees to Fight Spence

According to ESPN boxing analyst Fernando Barbosa, WBC and WBO super welterweight champion Sebastián Fundora (21-1-1, 13 KOs) has agreed to fight former welterweight champion Errol Spence (28-1, 22 KOs). The bout is scheduled to take place in January 2025 at either the "Cowboy Stadium" or "Cowboy Training Facility" in Arlington, USA.

At the end of September, the World Boxing Organization (WBO) officially ordered Fundora to defend his titles against WBA champion and interim WBO champion Terence Crawford (41-0, 31 KOs). The WBO gave both fighters a 30-day window to negotiate the bout, otherwise a purse bid would be ordered.

Sebastián Fundora last fought in March, defeating Tim Tszyu (24-1, 17 KOs) via split decision.

Errol Spence has been out of action since July 2023, when he lost to Crawford by a 9th-round TKO.
