A Full-Fledged Title Could Be at Stake in the Fundora vs. Bogachuk Fight!

Ukrainian middleweight boxer (up to 69.85 kg) Sergey Bogachuk has talked about his initial earnings in boxing and the possibility of a title fight against Fundora:

How did you end up in the United States in the first place?

"In short, specialists saw my fight when I defeated Cuban world champion and Olympic champion Roniel Iglesias Sotolongo in the World Series of Boxing. I started with the Russian company 'Ural Boxing Promotion,' and then I came to Sanchez. From there, he had to take a look at me, and if he approved, then I would stay. It turned out that I came, and he started "testing" me, and then he said I was a good guy and signed a contract with Tom Loeffler."

How much did you earn with your first cheque as a professional boxer?

"$70. I didn't even cash that check; I left it as a memento. At the time, 2017, it was funny."

What's been your biggest earnings to date?

"$20-something thousand dollars."

Will a new record be set for the fight with Fundora in terms of earnings?

They promise that there will be. Interestingly, it's being negotiated, and it's possible that the fight will be for the main WBC title," said Bogachuk in an interview with Sport-express.ua.

Currently, the WBC title in this weight class is held by American Jermell Charlo, who moved up two weight classes for a fight against Saul Alvarez and lost in his last bout. In 2023, Bogachuk won both his fights by knockout. Fundora suffered his only defeat by knockout in the seventh round.
