Froch: "Usyk Far Surpasses Joshua"

Former British world champion Carl Froch assessed the chances of Anthony Joshua (28-3, 25 KOs) if he were to face the holder of the WBO, WBA, IBO, and IBF heavyweight titles (over 90,7 kg) Oleksandr Usyk (21-0, 14 KOs) for a third time.

"I have to say Usyk. He's already beaten him twice. When Usyk steps on the gas, increases the pace and the work rate – he dominates. This fight won't be close, Usyk far surpasses him.

It's a good question, especially because AJ looked very good against Ngannou, who was in his second fight, which sounds funny.

He (Joshua) looks his opponents in the eye, lands punches, moves forward, so he knocked out Ngannou," said Froch.

Oleksandr Usyk and Anthony Joshua have met in the ring twice: in September 2021 and August 2022. At the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, the Ukrainian won by unanimous decision of the judges, and in the rematch – by split decision.

On March 8th, Anthony Joshua knocked out Francis Ngannou (0-2) in the second round.

Oleksandr Usyk's next fight will take place on May 18th in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, for the undisputed heavyweight world champion title against WBC holder Tyson Fury (34-0-1, 24 KOs).
