Froch Discusses What Lacks in Saudi Arabia Tournaments

Former world champion British boxer Carl Froch shared his thoughts on what is missing from boxing tournaments in Saudi Arabia. Moreover, he responded to promoter Frank Warren.

"Frank Warren is trying to criticize The Cobra again, calling me a pathetic freak! The ginger! What's going on? I've never been miserable, I'm always smiling, I'm always laughing, I'm happy, I'm tearing this life apart. After retiring 10 years ago, all I've done is enjoyed and just got on with it, staying out of the limelight as much as possible. I just remembered Saudi Arabia and the atmosphere, or the lack of it. There's a bit of an atmosphere missing in Saudi Arabia, everyone I talk to agrees with what I'm saying. It's not criticism, it's just an observation that boxing evenings in Saudi Arabia lack atmosphere. Every time an event starts, people just sit there – they don't come to life, they're not emotionally involved, and they don't fully understand the sport. In fact, not many Brits go there, only a few people do, so we're struggling for atmosphere," said Froch.

Warren's reaction is related to Froch's earlier criticism of boxing evenings in Saudi Arabia. To which Frank responded: "He's the most pathetic, green-eyed freak who ever was in the sport. I don't understand why he makes such comments".
