British Carl Froch believes that former world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua (27-3, 24 KOs) is taking a significant risk by facing former UFC champion Francis Ngannou (0-1, 0 KOs).
"If Ngannou lands on Joshua's chin the way he did with Fury, Anthony will take a long time to recover after taking a hit.
Anthony lost his bearings in the fight with Pulev. Joshua was boxing well, moving well, but then it took him 4 or 5 rounds to do his job. He won't have that much time with Ngannou. Francis will put pressure on him; it's just a ten-round fight.
It's like an exhibition match, but that's why it's dangerous for Anthony. He needs to go out there, win, and make his money – that's the only reason he's taking this fight.
Joshua is trying to secure a fight for the undisputed world championship with the winner of Tyson Fury vs. Oleksandr Usyk, but he still needs to get past Ngannou. Potentially, this could be a very bad move if things go wrong for him, as it could end his career," said Froch.
Ngannou and Joshua are set to meet on March 8th in Saudi Arabia.
