Ben Shalom, head of the Boxxer promotion company, provided updates on the recovery process of British heavyweight boxer Frazer Clarke (8-1-1, 6 KOs).
In October, Clarke required surgery for injuries to his jaw and facial bones, sustained in a bout against Fabio Wardley (18-0-1, 17 KOs). Wardley knocked him out in the first round, and Clarke needed an oxygen mask after the fight's stoppage.
"The most important thing is that, thankfully, Frazer Clarke has no serious long-term damage. He underwent a brain scan, which brought relief to everyone involved. The surgery was done without the need for plates or screws, another major positive. He’ll need the rest of the year to fully recover before returning to training in the gym.
April is our target month, so the fact that we’re already discussing his potential return speaks volumes about his strength—both physically and mentally. Watching how he’s handled this, his commitment to recovery, and his motivation to come back is truly inspiring.
The great Frazer is a fan favorite, and I believe he’ll use this experience to achieve what we all know he’s capable of," said Shalom.
