Franklin Ends Losing Streak with Victory over Munoz

Jermaine Franklin (22-2, 14 KOs), representing the U.S. in the heavyweight division, secured a win over Mexico's Isaac Munoz (17-2-1, 14 KOs).

The boxing match took place on the evening of Sunday, July 16, at the Masonic Temple Arena in Detroit, USA.

Franklin was originally scheduled to fight Junior Wright (20-4-1, 17 KOs). However, following Wright's withdrawal, Munoz was swiftly selected as the replacement opponent.

Throughout the bout, the American super heavyweight maintained an upper hand, though Munoz managed to absorb the impact of Franklin's punches. Despite late-round efforts to end the match early, Franklin was unsuccessful.

The full match duration was exhausted, ending with a unanimous judges' decision in favor of Franklin: 100-90, 100-90, 99-91.

This victory allowed Jermaine Franklin to put an end to his losing streak of two games against Dillian Whyte and Anthony Joshua. Franklin lost to Whyte in November 2022 by a majority decision and to Joshua in April 2023 by a unanimous decision.
