Frank Warren: "I Still Believe That Tyson Won the Fight With Usyk"

Promoter of Tyson Fury (34-2-1, 24 KOs) and head of Queensberry Promotions, Frank Warren, once again rewatched his client’s bout against WBA, WBC, WBO, and IBO heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk (23-0, 14 KOs).

"I still believe that Tyson won that fight. It was much closer than I initially thought, but I still think Tyson won.

I rewatched the fight again, and many people in the sport, whom I consider fairly knowledgeable—and I consider myself knowledgeable, having been in this business for 47 years and led many boxers to championships—well, I don’t understand how one of the judges didn’t give Tyson a single round out of the last seven.

I just can’t understand that. I watched the fight once more: the other two judges gave him one round each. But I don’t get it. It was a tense fight, just like the first one. I thought this time Tyson would stop his opponent, but it didn’t happen," Warren told Box Nation.

Oleksandr Usyk defeated Tyson Fury first in May by split decision, and then in the December 21 rematch by unanimous decision.
