Frank Warren on Dubois: "It’s Hard to Get Two Words Out of Him. I’ve Never Seen Him Like This"

Founder and head of Queensberry Promotions, Frank Warren, commented on the moment when IBF heavyweight champion Daniel Dubois (22-2, 21 KOs) stepped into the ring immediately after the decision was announced for the Oleksandr Usyk (23-0, 14 KOs) vs. Tyson Fury (34-2-1, 24 KOs) rematch and challenged the Ukrainian to a fight.

“He’s not very talkative and rarely speaks his mind. Even when he suddenly jumped into the ring and called out Usyk after the fight—it was completely spontaneous, and I’ve never seen him act like that before.

Later, when we discussed it, he just said he’s aiming for that fight, wants revenge. He’s become very confident in his abilities and knows what he’s capable of. We know he has all the necessary qualities, which he’s demonstrated more than once. He’s incredibly powerful, and his punch is probably the strongest in the heavyweight division.

He also has excellent boxing skills. As I’ve mentioned, he’s matured, and now he has a unique relationship with Don Charles. There are a few other key people on their team, and it all works perfectly. So he’s in a great position right now,” Warren noted.

Last year, Daniel Dubois had two bouts, stopping Filip Hrgovic and Anthony Joshua. The Briton’s next opponent will be WBO interim champion Joseph Parker.

On December 21, Oleksandr Usyk defeated Tyson Fury by unanimous decision, defending his WBA, WBC, WBO, and IBO world titles. After the fight, Dubois stepped into the ring, challenged Oleksandr, and received his agreement.
