Frank Warren, head of the Queensberry Promotions, responded to questions about the height of the shorts worn by former unified heavyweight champion Tyson Fury (34-2-1, 24 KOs) in his rematch against WBC, WBO, WBA, and IBO world champion Oleksandr Usyk.
"One of the journalists said that Fury had his shorts pulled up to his chest. That's complete nonsense. The referee entered the locker room before the fight. The way he wore them was legal.
Have you heard any complaints from Usyk? Not one. Some idiot who knows nothing about boxing said that. It's just laughable.
The beard—also not an issue. Complete rubbish, and no problem. If it were illegal, they wouldn't have allowed him to wear a beard. How many fighters have you seen walk to the ring with beards?" asked Warren.
In their last two bouts, Usyk defeated Fury twice—by split and unanimous decision.
