22-year-old American lightweight contender Floyd Schofield (18-0, 12 KOs), who is set to challenge 27-year-old WBC champion Shakur Stevenson (22-0, 10 KOs), has claimed that someone from Stevenson’s team has leaked key information to him.
"Shakur is in trouble… No one can give him confidence.
It’s crazy that one of his own soldiers told us everything about our opponent. We know their weakness.
His camp was something else because they already knew they were going to lose. He has too many physical and mental issues. We’re coming to fight, not to box. Our goal is to break his face," Schofield wrote.
Later, Floyd added:
"Shakur would be shocked if he knew who told us everything about him. Always watch the people around you, even those you consider family.
Cain vs. Abel… You’d be surprised what jealousy creates," the challenger wrote.
The Stevenson vs. Schofield fight is scheduled for February 22 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Find full fight statistics and analysis from Ready To Fight here.
