Floyd Publicly Supports Rollie

Former five-division world champion Floyd Mayweather has become one of the few to support the former WBA lightweight (up to 63,5 kg) champion Rolando Romero (15-2, 13 KOs). On the night of March 31st, Rollie lost to Isaac Cruz (26-2-1, 18 KOs) in the 8th round.

"Rollie, hold your head high. Incredibly proud of you for accomplishing the outstanding feat of becoming a world champion in two divisions in less than 18 fights, with no amateur experience and just 14 years of boxing experience.

In this journey we call life, you win some, you lose some, it's all part of the game. But in life, we face defeats, myself included. So remember: when people try to knock you down – don’t let yourself be trampled. Stand up, stay true to yourself, and acknowledge how much you've achieved," Mayweather wrote on his Instagram.

The defeat to Cruz marks the second loss in Romero's last three fights.
