Former five-division world champion Floyd Mayweather (50-0, 27 KOs) is convinced that, in his prime, he would have knocked out Mexican boxer Saul Alvarez (58-2-2, 39 KOs).
"Canelo Alvarez is a helluva fighter. [People talk about] a prime Mayweather vs. a prime Canelo. I fought a prime Canelo. I was the older Mayweather fighting prime Canelo. The fight wouldn’t have gone the distance if it were a prime Mayweather," said Mayweather.
It's worth noting that Mayweather and Alvarez went head-to-head in the ring in 2013, with Floyd securing a majority decision victory. Mayweather was 36 years old at the time of the fight.
