Floyd Moves to Exhibition Fights After Sparring Sessions with Haney

Bill Haney, the father of WBC world champion at lightweight (up to 63.5 kg) Devin Haney (31-0, 15 KOs), asserts that Floyd Mayweather decided to exclusively participate in exhibition fights after sparring sessions against his son.

"Floyd didn't release the sparring videos with Devin. I'll tell you this, say it once, I guarantee that after Floyd went through sparrings with Devin, he reconsidered boxing from a professional perspective and started doing exhibition fights.

And Mayweather didn't publish the sparring video of Devin versus Gervonta, he made a compilation, then passed it to Ryan Garcia to publish it," said Haney.

Bill is referring to a sparring session that took place between Devin and Floyd during Mayweather's preparation for his fight against Conor McGregor.

On April 20th, Haney will box against Ryan Garcia (24-1, 20 KOs) for the WBC title.
