American journalist and insider Dan Rafael shared his thoughts on how he believes the showdown for the undisputed heavyweight championship between Oleksandr Usyk (21-0, 14 KOs) and Tyson Fury (34-0-1, 24 KOs) will unfold.
"I don't think there's any doubt – the cut will be a factor in the fight. Because it's a serious cut. You don't need to be a doctor to see how serious it is.
And there's not much time left until the fight. I've heard all my career that fights are won and lost in the gym. And if you can't be in the best shape in the gym, it's unlikely things will go well on fight night.
I have no doubt Usyk will target that eye. It's just – like low-hanging fruit. I think Oleksandr Usyk's first punch will be right at that eye. And then it's up to Tyson Fury. He needs to make sure he's defending with a high guard, working from defense when it comes to that eye. And we'll see how it all goes," Rafael said.
The Usyk vs. Fury fight was postponed to May 18th due to a cut Tyson received in training camp.
