Former British boxer and now a boxing analyst, George Groves shared his thoughts on the upcoming fight for the undisputed heavyweight (over 90,7 kg) world title between WBA, WBO, IBF, and IBO titleholder Oleksandr Usyk (21-0, 14 KOs) and WBC champion Tyson Fury (34-0-1, 24 KOs).
"Yes, I've picked Usyk – he will beat Fury. I remember when Usyk first moved up to heavyweight, I said, 'He's the dark horse. Don't write this guy off.'
Over the years, we've seen the cruiserweight move up to heavyweight and dominate. Many people thought he would never compete with Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury. I still think Usyk will beat him.
They say a good big fighter will beat a good little one, but I think Usyk is an exceptional boxer. In terms of boxing skills, he is much better," said Groves.
The fight between Oleksandr Usyk and Tyson Fury is scheduled for May 18 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
