British middleweight (up to 72.5 kg) Chris Eubank Jr. (33-3, 24 KOs) addressed the possibility of a showdown against WBA and WBO super welterweight champion (up to 68.95 kg) Terence Crawford (41-0, 31 KOs).
"This fight can definitely happen. Terence is moving up through the weight divisions. In his last fight, he competed in super welterweight, and in the next six months, he would likely aim to reach middleweight, and then perhaps super middleweight to face Canelo.
I’m in middleweight. There are only a few well-known names in this division, so exciting times are ahead. We have a trainer who works with both of us, and if the fight does happen, he’ll have to pick one person to share information with. It’s not pleasant to think about, but I’m very confident.
I think he’s too small. So I believe, regardless of the information he might get from camps with me and BoMac, it won’t affect the outcome. I don’t think he can beat me at this weight," said Eubank Jr.
Talks about this fight have surfaced before, but one issue was that Chris would have needed to cut weight. Additionally, both Eubank and Crawford share the same trainer – Brian McIntyre.
Chris last fought in September 2023, knocking out Liam Smith in the 10th round. Crawford secured a unanimous decision victory over Israil Madrimov in early August.
