British star Chris Eubank Jr. revealed via Twitter that he personally compensated all the undercard fighters who were left unpaid after his original 2022 bout with Conor Benn was canceled due to Benn’s failed drug test. Each fighter received £3,571.43 from Eubank.
“After my first scheduled fight with Conor Benn was canceled, Eddie Hearn and Matchroom didn’t compensate anyone for their training camp expenses — which didn’t sit right with me. So here’s a little something to help the undercard fighters who never got paid.
A few boxers didn’t want to share their bank details with me… Maybe they will now,” Eubank Jr. wrote.
The long-delayed grudge match between Eubank and Benn is now set to take place on April 26 in London.
