Eddie Hearn shed light on the current snags in setting up the Conor Benn and Chris Eubank Jr. fight:
"This bout might be on the horizon, but Conor Benn's stepping into the ring end of January or start of February. No more waiting around. He's in the thick of training, primed for action. If Benn nails his upcoming fight, we might circle back to Eubank by summer's end or later. It's up in the air. The matchup was all set for a February showdown at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, but sealing the deal with Eubank? That's another story. Negotiating with him is like a bout in itself. I get his stance, though – he's got a price tag in mind for this scrap, and we're not there yet. This fight's what British boxing's itching for," said Hearn.
Recall the Eubank-Benn face-off was initially slated for October 2022 but got axed due to Benn's doping hiccup. However, Benn cleared his name this summer – his team showed the banned substance entered his system via food, not foul play.
