Ennis Could Call Out Ortiz. Promoter Reveals When It Should Happen

Matchroom Boxing head Eddie Hearn said that his fighter Jaron Ennis could call out or even announce a fight against interim WBC Super Welterweight champion Vergil Ortiz.

"Ortiz vs. Erickson Lubin is a good fight. I hope Vergil wins. I think he will win. He’s the favorite going into that fight.

Of course, we’ve got Ennis facing Wismay Lima, who may be a slightly different fighter than Lubin, but just as good and just as strong as Erickson. Jaron Ennis should be in the ring in October. Ortiz’s fight looks to be November 8.

Let’s make it so that after Vergil Ortiz’s victory we’re in the ring with him and announce the fight," Hearn said.

Jaron Ennis (34-0, 30 KOs) will face Wismay Lima on October 11. Vergil Ortiz (23-0, 21 KOs) will fight Erickson Lubin on November 8.
