This was a rematch of their August 2023 clash, where Navarrete claimed victory via unanimous decision. Since then, Emanuel had gone winless in two bouts, drawing with Robson Conceição and losing to Denys Berinchyk. Meanwhile, Valdez bounced back from his loss by knocking out Liam Wilson.

The rematch ended in a decisive victory for Navarrete, who scored knockdowns against Valdez in the first, fourth, and sixth rounds. Following the final knockdown, Valdez was unable to recover, and the fight ended with a KO in the sixth round.
