Rumble for Rank: Joshua or Wilder to Ascend as WBC Contender

The buzz is real, and now it's set in stone. WBC President Mauricio Sulaiman confirms that a face-off between Anthony Joshua and Deontay Wilder is more than just a match—it's a battle for the WBC heavyweight title's mandatory challenger status:

"Payback Day is not just a mega event. It's a grand tourney. A Wilder vs. Joshua clash means we're seeing the ultimate showdown—WBC's top dog Wilder against runner-up Joshua for that coveted contender spot.

We're all eyes on Saturday to see how it unfolds, but nothing's carved in stone yet," Sulaimán stated.

Joshua's stepping into the ring with Wallin on December 23, and Wilder's squaring off against Parker. Post victories, they're potentially locking horns.

The WBC heavyweight crown is with Tyson Fury, who's gearing up for a face-off with Usyk on February 17.
