Eifert Named Official Challenger for Bivol

The International Boxing Federation (IBF) has ruled that Dmitry Bivol (24-1, 12 KO), the reigning Light Heavyweight champion, must face 27-year-old German contender Michael Eifert (13-1, 5 KO).

This is Eifert’s second title assignment within a year. Earlier, the IBF ordered him to meet Artur Beterbiev, but later allowed the champion to proceed with Beterbiev–Bivol 2 instead.

Because a third Bivol–Beterbiev showdown is already being discussed, Bivol may be forced to vacate the belt to accommodate it.
