On the night of December 14 in the Dominican Republic, local boxer Edwin De Los Santos (17-2, 15 KOs) faced Mexican fighter Eliot Chavez (12-7-1, 7 KOs).
Just 34 seconds into the opening round, De Los Santos sent his opponent to the canvas. Chavez was unable to continue — KO 1.
For Edwin, this marked his first fight since November 2023, when the Dominican lost by unanimous decision to the reigning WBC lightweight champion Shakur Stevenson.
In June, De Los Santos was scheduled to face Keyshawn Davis for the vacant WBO lightweight title, but Davis failed to make weight. As a result, the fight was canceled and the belt remained vacant.
