New Contract and Upcoming Fight Announced for Sunny Edwards

Matchroom Boxing has announced a new contract and the next fight for British flyweight (up to 50.8 kg) Sunny Edwards (20-1, 4 KOs) against Mexican Adrian Curiel (24-5-1, 5 KOs).

The fight is scheduled for June 29 at the Footprint Center in Phoenix, USA, on the undercard of the bout between WBC super flyweight (up to 52.1 kg) champion Juan Francisco Estrada (44-3, 28 KOs) and unified WBO and IBF flyweight champion Jesse Rodriguez (19-0, 12 KOs).

"I'm thrilled to start the next chapter of my career. Signing another agreement with Matchroom confirms my future here. With the confidence I've gained from the promoter team and the events I've participated in, I know I'm in the right place.

My fight against Curiel is going to be hellish. He's a former world champion, just like me, and we're both fighting to get back into the world title contention.

I'm heading back to Arizona, and this time, I'll be fighting in front of an even bigger crowd filled with passionate Mexican and American boxing fans. I'm eagerly looking forward to my return on June 29," said Edwards.

Last December, Edwards lost to Jesse Rodriguez, while Curiel was defeated by Sivenathi Nontshinga (13-1, 10 KOs) in February.
