Eddie Hearn has revealed a potential face-off between lightweight champion Devin Haney and WBC welterweight titleholder Regis Prograis.
Hearn confirmed that Haney had already expressed interest in such a bout. "[Haney] called me the other night. We had a great conversation. He wants to fight Regis Prograis. You know, it’s a tremendous fight. He wants to move up to 140. He wants a belt," Hearn stated during an interview with Boxing Scene.
The promoter underscored that Haney should exercise caution when mulling over such a decision, considering his current status as the undisputed world champion. Moving up a weight category presents certain risks. However, Hearn remains optimistic that a potential showdown between Haney and Prograis could be exhilarating.
