Eddie Hearn: "I'm Not 100% Sure Dubois Can Beat Parker"

Head of Matchroom Boxing, Eddie Hearn, believes that IBF heavyweight champion Daniel Dubois (22-2, 21 KOs) is overlooking WBO interim champion Joseph Parker (35-3, 23 KOs), with whom he’s scheduled to fight on February 22.

He also doesn’t see a path for Dubois to beat the two-time undisputed world champion Oleksandr Usyk (23-0, 14 KOs).

"Honestly, I’m not 100% sure Dubois can beat Parker. You see, when you start underestimating someone like Joseph Parker—like Dubois seems to be doing—and begin thinking about other fights, for example Usyk, it can become a dangerous situation.

As for Parker vs. Usyk... Listen, these are interesting matchups, but can they really motivate Usyk at this stage, considering he’s accomplished everything?

I just think Usyk is too good. Yes, Dubois has a powerful punch and is very confident right now, but I don’t see a scenario in which he could beat Usyk," said Hearn.

On December 21, Oleksandr Usyk defeated Tyson Fury by unanimous decision. After the result was announced, Daniel Dubois entered the ring, called out the Ukrainian, and received his agreement.
