Eddie Hearn: "You Can See Wladimir Klitschko’s Desire to Return to the Ring"

Matchroom Boxing's chairman Eddie Hearn shared his thoughts on the possibility of former heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko making a return to the ring to face IBF heavyweight titleholder Daniel Dubois (22-2, 21 KOs).

This idea strikes me as unusual. I recently had dinner with Wladimir Klitschko, Turki Al-Sheikh, and Frank Warren. That was before the Joshua vs. Dubois fight.

Klitschko is still in incredible shape, and it’s clear he has the desire to step back into the ring. But age is a factor. It’s been nearly eight years since his last bout against Anthony Joshua.

In my opinion, coming back to face a young and hungry fighter like Dubois may not be the best move. However, Klitschko is a true legend, and he has every right to decide his own path,” said Hearn.

The 48-year-old Wladimir Klitschko last fought in April 2017, suffering an 11th-round TKO loss to Anthony Joshua (28-4, 25 KOs).
