Head of Matchroom Boxing, Eddie Hearn, who represents IBF welterweight champion Jaron Ennis (32-0, 29 KOs), shared his thoughts on a potential bout between his client and WBC interim champion in the super welterweight division (up to 69.9 kg) Virgil Ortiz (22-0, 21 KOs).
"The only thing that has been discussed, although not specifically for the February event, is the fight between Jaron Ennis and Virgil Ortiz. This has been mentioned before, and we would agree to this fight without hesitation," Hearn told The Stomping Ground.
In July, Ennis stopped David Avanesyan (30-5-1, 18 KOs) in the 5th round. Jaron's next fight will be against Karen Chukhadzhian (24-2, 13 KOs) on November 9 in Philadelphia, USA.
In August, Ortiz won a unanimous decision against Serhii Bohachuk (24-2, 23 KOs).
