Eddie Hearn Doesn’t Believe Chisora Will Retire After 50th Fight

Matchroom Boxing CEO Eddie Hearn shared his thoughts on veteran Derek Chisora’s (36-13, 23 KOs) recent victory over Sweden’s Otto Wallin (27-3, 15 KOs) and whether the British heavyweight will retire after his next fight.

Hearn is skeptical that Chisora’s 50th fight will be his last.

"Honestly, I wasn’t sure if Chisora would beat Otto Wallin. But as it turned out, Otto put on a rather strange performance, though a lot of that was because he was simply overwhelmed. That’s exactly what Derek does.

I don’t think Derek will retire unless someone beats him. When you’re winning and enjoying yourself, it’s very hard to just walk away," Hearn said.

On February 8, Chisora defeated Wallin by unanimous decision. After the fight, Derek let fans choose his opponent for his 50th fight, offering three options: undisputed heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk, IBF champion Daniel Dubois, and Anthony Joshua.
