Hearn Planning Tune-Up Fight for Joshua — Jake Paul Among the Options

Matchroom Boxing head Eddie Hearn has revealed that former world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua may take a tune-up fight, and that influencer and boxer Jake Paul remains one of the possible opponents.
“We already have several potential opponents we’re in talks with for a tune-up fight.
The main goal isn’t to launch a big media campaign — it’s simply to step in, do the weigh-in, and get back into fighting rhythm.
It’s not about money — it’s about regaining that feel for the ring. Every time Joshua fights, it’s in front of 60,000 fans at a stadium. We just want one fight to help him rediscover that rhythm.
We’ve talked a little about the idea of a fight with Jake. If we’re doing a tune-up, a fight with Paul wouldn’t be a bad option. But I doubt he’s that desperate. Nothing serious at the moment,” Hearn said.
Anthony Joshua hasn’t fought since the fall of 2024, when he was knocked out by Daniel Dubois.
