Ebanie Bridges returns to the ring after two-year layoff

In the early hours of January 4 at Coliseo Roberto Clemente in San Juan, Puerto Rico, a scheduled eight-round bantamweight bout (up to 53.5 kg) took place between 39-year-old Australian Ebanie Bridges (9-3, 4 KOs) and 35-year-old American Alexis Mones (4-2-1, 1 KO).

The fight went the full distance and ended with Mones winning by unanimous decision. The judges’ scorecards read 80–72 and twice 78–74 in favour of the American.

For Bridges, this was her first fight in more than two years. The last time the Australian stepped through the ropes was in December 2023 against Miyo Yoshida, when she lost by unanimous decision. In the summer, Bridges signed a promotional deal with Most Valuable Promotions.
