Malik Scott Breaks Down Dubois vs. Parker

Deontay Wilder’s trainer, Malik Scott, provided an in-depth analysis of the upcoming heavyweight title clash between Daniel Dubois and Joseph Parker exclusively for Ready To Fight. The fight for the IBF world heavyweight championship will take place on February 22 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

"A tough, tough fight. An exciting clash. A highly intriguing bout. A great fight for boxing. A spectacle for the heavyweight division.

Both guys are coming off some of the biggest wins of their careers—maybe even the biggest. Joseph Parker secured a massive victory over Wilder and followed it up with another against Zhilei Zhang. Daniel Dubois took out Jarrell Miller and battered Filip Hrgovic before getting stopped. Now, he steps into the ring after a huge showdown at Wembley against Anthony Joshua.

A tough matchup. Both fighters have a ton of momentum right now. But I’m slightly leaning toward Joseph Parker. I think he’s highly motivated, rejuvenated, and looking sharp. He’s got an incredible trainer in Andy Lee, though Dubois also has an outstanding coach in Don Charles.

This is the perfect time for a fight like this. I’m leaning toward Parker because this is the best version of Joe I’ve ever seen. He wants to become a two-time world heavyweight champion.

Daniel Dubois is tough. He’s big. And he’s not slow in the ring—his speed can be a bit deceptive compared to how he looks from the outside. But if I had to bet, I’d pick Joseph Parker to win. I’m not sure if it’ll be a stoppage or a decision, but I want to see Parker become a two-time heavyweight champion," Scott shared.
