Dubois' Sister Aims to Fight Katie Taylor

The coach of the IBO lightweight champion (up to 61,2 kg), Caroline Dubois (9-0, 5 KOs), Shane McGuigan, shared the future plans of his protégée.

"She wants Katie Taylor, that's true.

I've always said, 'You know, Katie will probably vacate the belts, Katie will move on,' but Katie Taylor is holding onto those belts. And if she's holding onto those belts and Caroline says, 'I want Katie Taylor' – that would be a big fight. Katie might be ready for it, and we're passing the baton to her.

Caroline Dubois would be ready to go to Ireland and box Katie Taylor for her two world lightweight titles, and I think Eddie Hearn would potentially be ready too. I think it makes sense.

At the end of the day, I've put a lot of time and effort into Caroline, and she's going to be the best fighter at lightweight.

She wants to win the titles from the main person holding them, which is Katie Taylor, who's held them for so long. We want to go down that route," said McGuigan.

In September 2023, Caroline Dubois captured the IBO belt against Magali Rodriguez (23-7-4, 10 KOs). In February, she made her first defense against Miranda Reyes (7-2-1, 3 KOs). Katie Taylor is the undisputed super lightweight champion (up to 140 lbs). Last May, she suffered her first career loss against Chantelle Cameron (18-1, 8 KOs) but won in the rematch.
