Expert Predicts the Winner of Dubois vs. Parker Fight

Former champion and current boxing analyst Carl Froch shared his prediction for the potential showdown between IBF heavyweight titleholder Daniel Dubois (22-2, 21 KOs) and interim WBO champion Joseph Parker (35-3, 23 KOs).

I believe Dubois should be the favorite; he has a powerful punch. Parker tends to tire as the rounds go on. He’s tough and strong, but his punches don’t match the caliber of the top fighters. He’ll have to keep punching and moving for the full 12 rounds.

Dubois is riding high on confidence after his victory over Joshua and now holds the IBF title. I think if he starts pressing Parker from the 5th or 6th round onward, he could carry that momentum into the second half and inch closer to victory.

Dubois has a solid jab, and when he lands with his right hand, those shots are devastating. I think, in this case, the bigger guy will win against the smaller one. It’s going to be an intense fight and a great opportunity for both. A fantastic match for Dubois and a significant win on his record.

If the fight goes the distance, it’ll be a close result, but I believe Dubois will come out on top. I’m not hedging here—I think Dubois will beat Parker in an exciting battle and likely finish it early,” Froch commented.

Parker’s last appearance in the ring was in March against Zhang Zhilei (27-2-1, 22 KOs), where he won by majority decision. In September, Dubois stopped Anthony Joshua (28-4, 25 KOs) with a knockout in the 5th round. February 22 is a possible date for Dubois’s next fight, with Parker as the likely opponent.
