Dubois on Hrgovic: "Like a Hot Knife Through Butter"

British heavyweight Daniel Dubois (20-2, 19 KOs) aims to easily and confidently get past his future opponent, Croatian IBF heavyweight title contender Filip Hrgovic (17-0, 14 KOs).

"The fight with Miller didn't change me, but it found what was deep inside me. That night, I had to show it. Now I need to show more in the fight with Hrgovic and get better and better each time. Prove all the skeptics wrong and keep doing what I'm doing.

You can group all the skeptics together. When they see you, they smile, but when things aren't going well, they're quick to criticize and talk a lot of crap. That's something to remember. That's life in general. Such moments come in life with the people you meet. You have to wise up quickly and understand what's really going on.

I heard Hrgovic talk about our sparring in interviews, but I remember Nathan Gorman also talked about sparring before our fight, and he ended up on his back. He's top-ranked? He is highly rated. He's a good boxer, so I need to get past him.

On paper, it's a huge challenge, but I feel like it'll be as tough as I make it. I need to keep performing, train properly, make sure I keep doing it, and get through him like a hot knife through butter," said Dubois.

Hrgovic and Dubois will meet on June 1st in Saudi Arabia in a 5 vs. 5 tournament between promotional companies Matchroom and Queensberry.
