Dubois' Manager Reveals When Daniel Will Return; Wardley Among Options

Daniel Dubois / The Times

Sam Jones, manager of former IBF heavyweight champion Daniel Dubois, spoke about when his client will return to the ring and the possibility of a matchup against Fabio Wardley.

“Daniel had a small injury. A slight niggle. He’s been on holiday, but he’ll be back very soon. Very, very soon. In April, at the latest in May.

I would love to make the fight against Wardley. But again, here’s the thing: Fabio Wardley is the champion, so it would be a voluntary title defense. But apart from Anthony Joshua, Tyson Fury, and Oleksandr Usyk, Dubois is the biggest name for Fabio Wardley, and that’s the fight that would bring in the most money.

If Fabio Wardley gets the Usyk fight—all credit to him, he deserves that opportunity. But I’m saying that apart from those boxers I mentioned, Daniel is the biggest name. So if he wants that fight, we can make it happen very quickly,” Jones said.

Dubois (22-3, 21 KOs) has not stepped into the ring since the summer of 2025, when he was knocked out by Oleksandr Usyk. Fabio Wardley (20-0-1, 19 KOs) knocked out two opponents in 2025—Joseph Parker and Justis Huni.
