Sam Jones, manager of former IBF Heavyweight champion Daniel Dubois, spoke about their team's interest in the result of the Agit Kabayel — Damian Knyba fight, which will take place on January 10 in Oberhausen, Germany.
“Kabayel is fighting this week. Ultimately, we would like it to be a fight against Kabayel or against Fabio Wardley, but for Wardley that would be a voluntary defense. Fabio deserves a chance to face Usyk. In my opinion, he deserves it, but I don't think that will happen.
Aside from Fury, AJ, and Usyk, Daniel Dubois is probably the biggest name, so it would be the biggest fight financially for Fabio. We would like to have this fight, but again, it would be a voluntary defense, so all the responsibility lies with Fabio.
We will be watching Agit Kabayel’s fight closely this weekend. Daniel thinks it’s good, but his next fight won't be a tune-up or anything like that, it will be a massive fight straight away,” said Jones.
Dubois has not entered the ring since the defeat to Oleksandr Usyk in the rematch.
