Sam Jones, manager of former Heavyweight world champion Daniel Dubois, has revealed that his fighter may be in line to face the winner of the upcoming clash between WBO interim champion Joseph Parker and WBA interim champion Fabio Wardley.
“I’m keeping a close eye on it, because in my opinion, Daniel Dubois could face the winner of the fight between Joseph Parker and Fabio Wardley. He’ll be at the event as a keen observer.
If Tyson Fury returns, that’s who Usyk will want to fight. That’s the money fight for Oleksandr, so the winner will be in a great position anyway. If Usyk vacates his belt, you’re looking at a potential next WBO Heavyweight world champion — and a fight between him and Dubois would be massive,” said Jones.
Dubois (22-3, 21 KOs) was already scheduled to face Parker in early 2025 but withdrew due to illness, later suffering a knockout loss to Oleksandr Usyk. Recently, the IBF sanctioned a heavyweight eliminator between Dubois and Frank Sanchez.
