Dubois’ Coach on Usyk Rematch: What’s Different This Time?

Daniel Dubois’ trainer, Don Charles, believes a potential rematch with Oleksandr Usyk could be far more successful for his fighter, and he explained why.

"In my opinion, that was a legal shot," Charles said, referring to the controversial low blow Dubois landed in their first fight.

The fight had two halves—we won the first, Usyk won the second. As a result, he got the victory.

What do we need to do differently? A lot. I want to remind fans that this was Daniel’s first fight under my guidance. We faced a southpaw who later became the undisputed champion, a master, a majestic genius named Oleksandr Usyk.

Back then, I had only spent 14 weeks with Daniel as his trainer. Now, we've been working together for 18 months. If the rematch happens, it’ll be two years of partnership. You'll see plenty of changes in different areas—though I won't reveal them now. Daniel's ambition is to become the undisputed champion," Charles stated.

In their first fight, Usyk knocked out Dubois in the ninth round.
