Dubois Assesses His Underdog Status in Fight with Usyk

Daniel Dubois, the regular WBA world champion in the heavyweight division, shared his thoughts on the upcoming fight against WBA Super, WBO, and IBF titleholder Oleksandr Usyk.

Dubois stated that he intends to emerge as the new division champion.

"Embracing the underdog role is fantastic. Despite the pressure, I don't pay much attention to it. As an underdog, you don't experience anything extraordinary. You simply step in and assert dominance over your opponent, impose your fight on them. I'm a super heavyweight, while he's a cruiserweight, and I'm determined to showcase that distinction, to be the aggressor in the ring. I'm 25 years old. This is my moment.

I'm fully committed to securing victory. I'm entering the ring with the sole purpose of winning. I'm currently in full combat mode. A few more days of training lie ahead. I'm consistently fatigued, but I must endure it. I'll find respite once I achieve my goal. When you attain the status of champion, you can relish rest for the remainder of your life," Dubois expressed in an interview on the YouTube channel Boxing Social.
