"The Dream Fight." Valdez Eyes Showdown with Lomachenko

In an interview with Fight Hub TV, Mexican super featherweight (up to 58.9 kg) contender Oscar Valdez (31-2, 23 KOs) commented on a potential fight against Ukrainian Vasyl Lomachenko (17-3, 11 KOs).

- If Lomachenko wins against Kambosos, would you consider a fight with Vasyl if Top Rank offers it to you?

- Yes, it would be foolish for any fighter to miss such an opportunity. There's always a chance. Every fighter stepping into the ring has a chance. If I were offered such a match, it would be the fight of my dreams because we know Lomachenko as a P4P fighter. This is world-class.

We've seen what he's done with Devin Haney, we've seen what he's done over the last few years. Fighting him is like getting a chance against Manny Pacquiao. Who would say "no" to a fight with Manny? Nobody. Everyone would accept that fight.

I think the same now applies in the case of Lomachenko. Right now, my main focus is Liam Wilson, but I will accept any opportunity that's offered to me.

Oscar Valdez's next fight will take place on March 29th in Glendale, USA, against Australian Liam Wilson (13-2, 7 KOs). The bout for the IBO and IBF lightweight titles (up to 61.2 kg) between Vasyl Lomachenko and George Kambosos (21-2, 10 KOs) is scheduled for May 12th in Perth, Australia.
