Super middleweight contender Sergiy Derevyanchenko has opened up about his future in boxing. In his last fight, he suffered a loss to Christian Mbilli, battling through most of the bout with an injured hand.
– At 39, do you think about retiring? How many more fights do you plan to have?
– I plan to have a few more fights. I can’t say the exact number.
– What do you plan to do after your boxing career?
– That’s a very interesting and difficult question because I haven’t really thought about it yet. Right now, my focus is entirely on training and fighting. Once I decide to retire, then I’ll figure it out.
In August, Derevyanchenko underwent surgery and has not yet returned to the ring since.
