Deontay "The Bronze Bomber" Wilder (43-2-1, 42 KOs), the ex-WBC heavyweight champ, is ready to enter the MMA arena. On the scoop from Blue Blood Sports TV, sports sleuth Michael Benson reports Wilder's itching for a shot at MMA glory.
"I've got my eye on a double whammy – mixing it up in the UFC and the boxing ring. Slap on those 4-ounce mitts, and I'll be a force of nature. I'm all fired up to hoist some heavyweight and serve a ground-and-pound special," Wilder declared.
The Bronze Bomber's last boxing bout saw him blast Robert Helenius with a first-round knockout the previous fall.
There were whispers about a tangle with Andy Ruiz for a crack at the WBC title belt, now strapped around Tyson Fury. But so far, it's all talk, no walk.
