Deontay Wilder Expected to Return to the Ring After a String of Setbacks

According to sports journalist Manouk Akopyan, former heavyweight world champion (over 90.7 kg) Deontay Wilder (43-4-1, 42 KOs) will return to the ring in April 2025.

The opponent’s name has not yet been revealed. The event will be promoted by the streaming service BLK Prime.

“I’ve been informed that Deontay Wilder will be back in April in a bout organized by BLK Prime.

Wilder and his manager Shelly Finkel will meet with the media in Los Angeles on Saturday to announce his opponent,” wrote Akopyan.

In June, Wilder lost to Zhang Zhilei by fifth-round TKO. This defeat was the “Bronze Bomber’s” fourth in his last five fights.
