Heavyweight fighter Stefan Shaw (20–2, 15 KOs) has dismissed reports of negotiations with former champion Deontay Wilder (43–4–1, 42 KOs).
"Today I saw this information on a blog and shared it. I feel that this fight would be perfect for me. I have sparred with Deontay since 2017 and was his main sparring partner. I was part of every camp, from his fight with Gerald Washington to his most recent bout with Zhang.
Then I spoke with my manager, and he talked to his manager. This is a fight we wanted to take, but honestly, right now it’s all nonsense," Shaw declared.
Earlier reports had suggested the bout would take place in April.
