Deontay Wilder Criticizes Andy Ruiz for Being Ungrateful and Believes He Is Risking His Career

Ex-world heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder admitted his disappointment regarding his potential opponent, Andy Ruiz's, attitude to the fight between them. According to Wilder, he believes that Ruiz is destroying his career if he does not agree to enter the ring with him.

"Let’s tell the truth about Andy Ruiz. We know he was about to go broke, he was a day away from eviction and we, Al Haymon, cause I’m in his team, we saved him. We signed him to fight me, to keep me busy," Wilder explained.

Wilder also expressed his displeasure with Ruiz's handling of his career, stressing that he risks "to run it straight into the ground."

"This is going to be the best [opportunity] that they ever get, if this deal falls through with him, you’ll never see him again in the boxing scene," Wilder warned.

Wilder also noted that he is "sick and tired of blessing these fighters not showing gratitude to me."
