Oscar Calls on Jake to Seriously Consider Tyson

American promoter Oscar De La Hoya addressed heavyweight boxer (up to 90.7 kg) American Jake Paul (9-1, 6 KOs), urging him to take his upcoming bout with former world heavyweight champion Mike Tyson (50-6, 44 KOs) seriously.

"Jake Paul, you say you want to become a world champion. You say you want to take this sport seriously – then take this confrontation seriously as well.

What is this? It's not a popularity contest. I really praise Jake Paul for taking the sport seriously. Because I genuinely feel that if he takes the right fights and follows the correct path to a world title, he can really achieve it," De La Hoya commented to FightHype.

The Paul vs. Tyson showdown is scheduled for July 20 at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. The fight will be broadcast on Netflix on a subscription basis.

Tyson will be 58 years old at the time of the fight, and Jake will be 27 years old.
