“Silenced.” De La Hoya Slams Boxing Media

Golden Boy Promotions head Oscar De La Hoya has voiced harsh criticism toward boxing media, accusing them of being paid off and failing to report on multiple doping cases involving Eddy Reynoso’s camp.

“I actually did some digging and found confirmation: many boxing media members have been bribed by certain people and effectively silenced,” said De La Hoya. “That’s a fact. Six fighters from Eddy Reynoso’s camp have tested positive for banned substances — the latest being Jaime Munguia, just two weeks ago. Six fighters — and no one’s asking questions? Doesn’t that seem at least suspicious to you?”

“We’re seriously accepting excuses like ‘they all ate contaminated meat’? Give me a break. Doesn’t that deserve an investigation into Eddy’s camp?”

“I’ve known Jaime for over 10 years — he always passed drug tests until joining Eddy’s camp before his fight in Riyadh. Is it ethical for six fighters from one team to get caught — and nobody raises a question or faces consequences? Where is the boxing media?”

“They crucified Ryan Garcia for an incredibly small amount of ostarine — day after day, for a whole year. And now, complete silence? I don’t know, man, but when something stinks, it’s usually shit.”

“I’m deeply disappointed in the media I held in high regard for over 30 years. Never imagined you could be bought so cheaply,” De La Hoya concluded.

Munguia tested positive following his win in the rematch against Bruno Surace.
